Founded in 1948, the National Glass Association
is the largest trade association representing the flat (architectural
and automotive) glass industry. We represent nearly 4,000 member companies
and locations, and produce the industry's leading events and publications.
NGA's Mission:
To provide information and education, as well as promote quality
workmanship, ethics, and safety in the architectural, automotive and
window and door glass industries. NGA acts as a clearinghouse for industry
information, a catalyst in education and training matters, and a powerful
voice on behalf of our members.
NGA helps industry professionals through education and training programs
that raise the level of quality workmanship. We offer certifications
in auto glass replacement, auto glass repair, and glass installation
for individuals that pass computerized exams and prove themselves through
years of experience. We also act as a clearinghouse for information
and link professionals with job listings, suppliers, and technical support.
NGA helps consumers by acting as a resource for everything from finding
professionals to providing information on the latest trends and issues.
We publish consumer guides that offer tips on glass shower enclosures,
bathroom designs, windows, and automobile windshields.
Our members are proud to adhere to a code of ethics that serve to assure
public confidence in the integrity and service of glass professionals
everywhere. They agree to:
- Promote and encourage fair and ethical competition.
- Fulfill all contractual obligations and respect the contractual
obligations of others by not inducing breach of existing contracts.
- Use safety glazing materials whenever possible and to refuse to
sell unsafe products.
- Maintain a safe work area which provides adequate inventories of
glass products and to sell these products at a fair and non-discriminating
price.
- Maintain the highest industry-wide standards of professional and
personal conduct.
- Promote the advancement of the association on both the local and
national levels, supporting its goals and objectives.
