E-Mail: Boosting Response
Not getting great response to your business e-mails? Try some of these tips to get things rolling.
- Summarize first. Give a shortened version of your pitch in the first paragraph. This will snag the skimmers who often just read the opening and hit "delete."
- Say "you," not "we." Tell the reader what's in it for him or her; not all the "great" things your company has done.
- Truth sells. Use detailed, true testimonials that demonstrate the powerful results your product or service has provided. Testimonials make your claims a lot more believable.
- Guarantee. A powerful guarantee adds even more credibility, especially when you're not selling face to face.
- Give it away. Offer something free. An item. Information. Coupons. It's another proven direct marketing technique that works equally well in the world of e-marketing.
