Committees
Advisory Council, NGA Coalition for Auto Glass Safety & Public Awareness
(CASPA)
This council advises CASPA on the development and distribution of "Auto
Glass Safety Aware" informational and educational materials. The Council
also recommends research projects designed to enhance public understanding
of auto glass replacement and the role of the windshield as an integral
part of the vehicle's safety restraint system.

Architectural Glazing Committee
This group recommends Association policy to the Board of Directors regarding
issues relating to the architectural glazing industry, including building
codes and the architectural metals business. Through staff support,
the committee maintains liaison with appropriate government and industry
organizations regarding all aspects of quality and safety involving
architectural glazing and metals. The committee is responsible for recommending
appropriate education and training programs.

Auto Glass Repair Certification Committee
This group oversees the continued development and maintenance of the
certification program's technical content, including job analyses and
examination questions. The group also suggests, reviews and develops
training programs and materials for the program.

This council is responsible for the development and administration of
policies and procedures for the Certified Auto Glass Repair Technician
Program and serves as a governing board to consider complaints, issue
disciplinary actions and review appeals.

GlassBuild America Planning Committees
The following committees are seminar planning committees for GlassBuild
America. The members of these committees are leaders in the field and
plan seminars for four distinct segments of the glass, window and door
industries to ensure attendees will have a one-of-a-kind learning experience
at GlassBuild America.

Glass Installer Certification Committee*
This group oversees the continued development and maintenance of the
Certified Glass Installer program's technical content, including job
analyses and examinations items. This group also serves as the Appeals
Board for questions about or challenges to the results of specific individual
testing.

NGA Auto Glass Suppliers Committee
The NGA Auto Glass Suppliers Committee will serve as a forum to discuss recommendations to NGA from its auto glass industry supplier members with emphasis on the NGA Auto Glass Conference & EXPO.

NGA National Windshield Repair Committee
This committee represents the interests of windshield repair retail service providers through advice, counsel and policy recommendations to the NGA Board of Directors. The Committee encourages consumer / insurance company understanding of windshield repair and develops resources to aid windshield repair practitioners create windshield repair awareness in their market.

NGA Retail Auto Glass Committee
This committee represents the interests of retail auto glass service providers by providing an open forum to discuss issues of common concern and, when needed, recommending policy to the NGA Board of Directors for consideration.

Product Identification Standards Committee (PIDS)
The Product Identification Standards (PIDS) Committee has developed (1999) and updated (2007) an NGA Recommended Practice containing uniform / consistent guidelines for labeling the auto glass and adhesive components in aftermarket auto glass replacement. PIDS is current working to submit these guidelines to ANSI for recognition as a national standard.

Repair of Laminated Auto Glass Standards Committee (ROLAGS)
ROLAGS was formed by the NGA to develop and submit a proposed voluntary
standard for the repair of laminated auto glass to the American National
Standards Institute (ANSI). Upon approval by ANSI, ROLAGS will be entrusted
with updating and maintaining the standard.
