Class is in session—NGA's Glass Management Institute
kicks off with redesigned format

WASHINGTON, DC, May 7, 2008—The National Glass Association’s Glass Management Institute (GMI) kicked off on Monday with 60 students attending the introductory webinar, a new function of its redesigned format. Delivered through a unique blend of webinars, collaborative tools, reading materials, and online training via NGA’s MyGlassClass.com, GMI was redesigned from its previous classroom format to save companies and their managers both time and money while providing a first-rate education.

Monday’s session was the first in GMI’s 40-week program offering comprehensive glass management education and valuable networking opportunities for its students. GMI features four distinct modules covering: Bidding and Estimating; Sales and Marketing and Project Management; Finance and Legal; and Strategy/Leadership Development.

“When asked their reasons for attending GMI, students replied with a broad range of personal goals such as ‘to learn glass industry specific management skills’, ‘to listen to other’s challenges and their resolutions’, ‘to keep with the current trends of the glass industry,’  ‘to share practical, hands-on experiences with other classmates,’ and I’m confident we are hitting the nail on the head in providing a program that will meet—and even exceed—all of these goals,” said David Walker, NGA’s VP of Association Services.

To see Monday’s webinar and get an overview of how the typical GMI webinar will work, simply go to https://glass.webex.com/ and click on "Training Center."  On the left side of your screen under "Attend a Session," click on "Recorded Sessions." Then choose the GMI Kick-off link from May 5 to view the 53-minute session.

GMI enrollment is still open and students may register by visiting www.glassmanagement.org or calling Matt Rumbaugh, the NGA's Division Manager for Education, Training and Certification, toll-free at 866/DIAL NGA (342-5642), ext 182.
