NGA Glass Conference 2020 FAQs

As COVID-19 continues to impact everyone and everything, the National Glass Association is sharing what we know and what we are planning for regarding our educational conferences. DOWNLOAD a copy of these FAQs for easy sharing.

Please email sara@glass.org if you have additional questions, and we will do our best to update this FAQ as quickly as possible.

Q: Where will NGA Glass Conference: Chicago be held?

A:  NGA Glass Conference, originally scheduled for Chicago (Renaissance North Shore), is now an online conference that will use Zoom as its platform. While we are disappointed not to be gathering in Chicago this summer, we are excited to host this NGA Glass Conference as a unique, robust online experience.

Q: What are the new conference dates?

A: NGA will deliver the virtual conference over the same dates the in-person event was originally scheduled: July 28-30, 2020. In effort to ensure the format of NGA Glass Conference is engaging as an online experience, we are streamlining the programming to occur between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm ET with dedicated time for a meal break.

Q:  Why did you decide to have a virtual conference?

A: Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of the glass and glazing community, which is why we’ve decided to replace the in-person NGA Glass Conference with a dynamic, virtual conference.  As we do with most everything, we surveyed our members and active committee volunteers, and they agreed with this approach.

Q: Can you describe what you mean by a virtual conference?

A: This will not be just a fancy webinar. There will be keynotes, learning, technical updates, and technical engagement with opportunities for live Q&A with speakers.

Q. Who should attend NGA Glass Conference?

A: This event is for anyone who wants to understand what his/her company is facing in the technical and codes realm related to glass, glazing and systems. Historically, our twice annual in-person conferences attract the most forward-thinking manufacturers, fabricators and suppliers who show up to make sure their voice is heard and to participate in the development of hundreds of technical resources NGA makes available to its members, stakeholders and the industry at large.

This year, thanks to the virtual platform, NGA has re-imagined the conference to include new elements that will allow the entire glass supply chain and stakeholders—such as architects—access to listen in on the inner workings of the group.  Click here for regular updates regarding the conference program.

Q: What sessions will be offered as part of NGA Glass Conference?

A: All the great content you expect from the NGA will be offered via the virtual conference platform, Zoom. We are working diligently to confirm our speakers and agenda, and will share updates soon. Click here for regular updates regarding the conference program.

Q:  I am a past sponsor of NGA conferences, and I want to support the NGA Glass Conference. What packages are available and how do I participate in this way?

A: Thank you for your past sponsorship. We greatly appreciate your interest. Please contact sara@glass.org for more information.

Q:  Will there be an in-person NGA Glass Conference in 2021?

A:  Yes, we look forward to seeing you at NGA Glass Conference: Clearwater Beach taking place January 18-20, 2021. Add these dates to your calendar now.

Q: Is NGA hosting any in-person events in 2020?

A: Yes, NGA is still moving forward with GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo in Las Vegas on September 15-17. Visit the GlassBuild America website and be sure to review the new FAQs related to this event.
