NGA Glass Conference 2021 FAQs

As COVID-19 continues to impact everyone and everything, the National Glass Association is sharing what we know and what we are planning for regarding our educational conferences.

Please email sara@glass.org if you have additional questions, and we will do our best to update this FAQ as quickly as possible.

Q: Where will NGA Glass Conference: Clearwater Beach 2021 be held?

A:  NGA Glass Conference originally scheduled to take place at the Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater Beach, FL will now take place online via Zoom, in similar fashion to the July 2020 NGA Glass Conference  which was rescheduled from its occurrence in Chicago.

This shift is in response to continued precautions surrounding travel and group gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Q: What are the conference dates?

A: The one-day virtual event will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

Q:  How did you decide upon the new format?

A: We recognized that online meeting fatigue is real.  While NGA is committed to sharing important education and time-sensitive information impacting the glass and glazing industry, we are focusing on the most important topics for online presentations and engagement – including more detailed and updated codes and standards content.

We don’t want to forget about the engaging networking elements imperative to this event. In the morning, plan to join us for our 6th annual Fun Run, virtually! We expect strong social engagement from our participants; a group photo will be taken on Zoom to commemorate the experience.

We also want to recognize our volunteer leaders with a volunteer celebration online happy hour, which we hope will provide a sense of the camaraderie we share when we are together in person.

Q. Who should attend NGA Glass Conference?

A: This event is for people who want to understand what their company is facing in the technical and codes realm related to glass, glazing and systems. Historically, our twice annual in-person conferences attract the most forward-thinking manufacturers, fabricators and suppliers who show up to make sure their voice is heard and to participate in the development of hundreds of technical resources NGA makes available to its members, stakeholders and the industry at large.

NGA is re-imagining its conferences to include new elements that will allow the entire glass supply chain and stakeholders—such as architects—access to listen in on the inner workings of the group.  Click here for regular updates regarding the conference program.

Q:  I am a past sponsor of NGA conferences, and I want to support the NGA Glass Conference: February 2021. What packages are available and how do I participate in this way?

A: Thank you for your past sponsorship. We greatly appreciate your interest. Please contact sara@glass.org for more information.

Q:  Will there be an in-person NGA Glass Conference later in 2021?

A:  We are certainly hopeful we’ll be able to meet in person at the NGA Glass Conference: Chicago taking place July 20-22, 2021.
