NASCAR DRIVER RUSTY WALLACE ENDORSES ONLINE EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR GLASS TECHNICIANS
WILL APPEAR WITH SPECIAL CAR AT GLASSBUILD AMERICA IN SEPTEMBER
WASHINGTON, DC (May 11, 2006) – Champion NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace has agreed to serve as a key spokesperson for and endorser of MyGlassClass.com, a comprehensive online training program for the glass industry developed by the National Glass Association.
Wallace will appear in a welcome video on the Web site, and will make appearances throughout the year on behalf of the program. In September, he will appear at the National Glass Association’s annual trade show, GlassBuild America, with a special car designed to promote MyGlassClass.com.
“I’m proud to be a part of a program that helps glass technicians update their skills and keep on the cutting edge of the latest technologies,” Rusty Wallace said. “It’s a convenient tool, and I hope folks in the industry take advantage of it.”
National Glass Association President & CEO Phil James said, “Rusty truly exemplifies the drive to be the best and that is shared by our member companies and their technicians. We created MyGlassClass.com so that everyone in our industry has the opportunity to achieve the highest level of customer service and workmanship, and we are honored that Rusty is playing such a key role.”
MyGlassClass.com will go live next month and will include certification classes, safety training and other continuing education programs. It is available to all employees of National Glass Association members and others in the industry.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have a champion of Rusty Wallace’s caliber on our team,” said NGA Vice President of Association Services David Walker. “We feel he has a strong connection with our target audience and, and we know he is fully committed to the principle of continuous learning.”
