BEC Conference 2021 FAQs

As COVID-19 continues to impact everyone and everything, we are sharing what we know and what we are planning for our educational conferences.

DOWNLOAD a copy of these FAQs regarding the 2021 BEC Conference for easy sharing.

Please email Sara Neiswanger if you have additional questions. We will do our best to update these FAQs as quickly as possible.

A:  The BEC Conference is being planned to occur in person, March 21-23 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

This plan is contingent on pandemic restrictions being enforced by the hotel and the City of Las Vegas regarding in-person gatherings.

A: Registration will open in mid-January; stay tuned for a special e-blast announcing it.

A: We recognize the strong desire of our members and industry to engage together. In addition, networking is a particularly important element of the BEC Conference. We believe we can safely execute a successful event in person during which all attendees and staff will adhere to and respect guidelines and behaviors that follow CDC recommendations and NGA policies.

Attendance will be limited to a capacity allowed by Caesars Palace to reflect social distancing requirements. Due to fluctuating infection rates, the specific number of attendees we can accommodate is still fluid.

A:  NGA aims to offer an engaging and positive experience for its attendees that meets your goals for networking and learning while keeping safety at the forefront.

Please familiarize yourself with CDC’s recommendation and guidance materials which will provide the foundation for our event procedures and expectations. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Having your temperature checked daily
  • Wearing a mask at all times except when eating
  • Washing and/or sanitizing your hands frequently
  • Maintaining at least 6’ distance between yourself and others at all times
  • Staying in your guest room and contacting event staff immediately if you feel the onset of COVID-19 symptoms

Caesars Palace is implementing protocols around the sanitization of guest rooms, high-touch areas throughout the hotel and how guests interact at meals. Anticipate individually-portioned or packaged food and beverage options.

Finally, NGA is developing its own policies that will enhance the comfort and safety of attendees that will be released soon.

A: NGA is researching the opportunity for an online component for those unable to attend in person. Stay tuned for more information at glass.org/event/2021-bec-conference.

A: NGA understands the ability to attend any event in person is a moving target. With that in mind, NGA will accept cancellations until March 12 with just a $50 processing fee assessed.

A: The tabletop display is a key element of the BEC Conference and will remain part of the event. As with other components of the conference, the number of tabletops we’ll be able to accommodate will be less than in previous years to promote the health and safety of attendees. We appreciate your understanding.

What hasn’t changed: participation in the tabletop display is open to NGA members only. Opportunities to sign up for a table will be made available in December first to those past BEC tabletop participants, GlassBuild America exhibitors and Glass Magazine advertisers. It will then be opened to the entire NGA membership, if available.

A: Thank you for your interest in sponsoring the Conference, we greatly appreciate your support. Please contact Sara Neiswanger for more information.
