NGA Launches Updated Glass & Glazing Design Academy

A Collaboration with Architectural Record

NGA launched its updated Glass & Glazing Design Academy, made available to architects and industry professionals through a partnership with Architectural Record.

This marks the third year NGA has hosted a curated academy of courses, which are available online in Architectural Record's Continuing Education Center. It features 10 one-hour AIA LU accredited courses, nine of which also fulfill HSW requirements. Many of the courses were developed by NGA and its member volunteers and cover a range of topics including decorative glass, insulating glass, laminated glass, protective glazing, fire-rated glazing, in addition to webinars and articles on the many benefits of glass use in building design. Courses are available at no charge and participants who complete all 10 courses will earn a Glass & Glazing Design badge.

The newest addition to the academy is Beyond Energy: How Glass in Architecture Contributes to Occupant Well-Being and Comfort, an editorial article CEU featured in the July 2021 issue of Architectural Record. A live webinar, Glazing: An Integral Part of Biophilic Design, will also be hosted on Tuesday, August 17 at 2:00 pm ET.

In addition to the Glass & Glazing Design Academy, NGA hosts many additional resources for architects. These include a variety of accredited courses for on-demand viewing and a custom selection of glass technical papers available for download.
