Glazier Apprenticeship Program Approved in Washington State

Result of a Multi-Year Effort on Behalf of NGA Member Companies

The Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council has approved a four-year registered glazier apprenticeship program in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. The result of a multi-year effort on behalf of NGA member companies AllStar Glass and Modern Glass Co., as well as C&S Glass and the Construction Industry Training Council (CITC) of Washington, the new Registered Apprenticeship Program will combine on-the-job training and classroom instruction. Apprentices will learn the technical skills of their trade through the NGA Glazier Apprentice Curriculum and hands-on skills through supervised labs and on-the-job training facilitated by CITC of Washington.

"Eastern Washington, specifically Spokane, and North Idaho have been missing a quality registered glaziers apprenticeship program for approximately 30 years and we are (were) desperate for quality training for our future journeyman glaziers," says Jodi Martinez, vice president of AllStar Glass and NGA board member. "The recent approval of the Eastern Washington Registered Glaziers Apprenticeship Program will not only bring reliable high-quality training for our industry but will also provide a standardized, lucrative, and exciting career path for future glaziers in our area. This is a huge opportunity and we are ready to recruit fellow employer partners and glazier apprentices to grow and help sustain our beloved glass and glazing industry in Washington, Idaho and beyond!"

The Eastern Washington Registered Glaziers Apprenticeship Program is currently accepting apprentices and recruiting employer partners.
