National Volunteer Week – NGA Celebrates Our Volunteers!

NGA's volunteers at meetings and events in 2026

Volunteerism empowers YOU to find your niche. Take your interests and turn them into meaningful action.

April 19-25 is National Volunteer Week, dedicated to celebrating the impact of volunteer service and the collective power of volunteers to tackle tough challenges and build a stronger, more resilient community. The past year has been a glowing example of the professional and personal fulfillment that stems from unification in support of our partners and peers, and the ability to come together to elevate a cause.

This week, and all year long, we value and thank our many volunteers in the glazing and glass building products industry who offer their time, talent, support and voice to the initiatives of the organization.

View the BEC Conference 2026 recap to see some of our NGA volunteers getting involved. Also, be sure to review the NGA Annual Report 2025 detailing the value created with the help of our volunteer members, for our industry.

National Glass Association

Why Our Members Volunteer

It feels good to give back to an industry that's been good to me for a long time. On a personal level, it's rewarding to connect with other people who are passionate about what we do and to know I'm helping strengthen the association for everyone. Professionally, it's helped me build real relationships, stay current with what's happening in the field, and pick up some useful skills along the way.

Overall, it's one of the best parts of being involved with NGA.

Joe Kaiser Herzog Glass

I volunteer because I grew up in the glass industry — it's where I started, and it's where I belong. Over time, what I've come to value most is the community around it. Staying connected with peers, sharing ideas, and working toward a better future for our industry is why I volunteer.

This industry was built by people who cared enough to invest in it, and I see volunteering as part of continuing that responsibility and mentoring those who will take care of it after us.

Michael Saroka Goldray Glass

Our industry is in a current state of unlocking great potential for the next generation of products, companies, and workers. To best serve these areas, volunteering time to educate, support, and expand the next generation is critical to the overall success of the glass industry.

It takes an army to make all of us successful. It takes one person volunteering, though, to make it worthwhile. I like volunteering, but I love the connections we make along the way.

Wade Arnold Specialty Fenestration Group

I volunteer because I believe the best way to grow is to stay connected to the “how” and “why” of everything that we do in the glass industry. Personally, I find value in the collaborative problem-solving that happens within the NGA. Professionally, it's about ensuring that I'm continuously evolving my knowledge and increasing my value.

By participating in these industry-wide conversations, I'm not just contributing to today's standards — I'm positioning myself to better identify and pursue the next big opportunities in glass technology.
