The National Glass Association supports the worldwide effort to designate 2022 as the United Nations International Year of Glass. Organized by the International Commission on Glass (ICG), the campaign has collected more than 1,150 endorsements from 77 countries. To further its campaign, the ICG recently released a video on how glass meets the goals of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The International Year of Glass 2022 campaign is seeking a successful resolution at the UN General Assembly in December 2020 and NGA will report back on the outcome.
In NGA's letter of endorsement sent earlier this year on behalf of members, board of directors and staff, NGA President & CEO Nicole Harris states, “We believe an International Year of Glass would not only have a positive impact in North America, but the world over. We wholeheartedly support this endeavor.”
